Netradana Yoga was created to help those who are suffering to release toxic emotions, get grounded, forgive and find joy in living again. It is in memory of Kim and Jamie.

My one and only sister Kim, was a beautiful and dynamic woman as well as a devoted Mother. She faced many challenges in her life and had difficulty processing her pain during these times. The constant stress caused her immune system to weaken and as a result, she died of a virus. She left behind a son. She was 44.

Jamie was my childhood sweetheart and precious life long best friend. He too faced difficult challenges in his life and internalized a lot of pain and anger. During an extremely stressful time, he died of a sudden heart attack. He left behind a son. He was 46.

I was shattered when they died and I face this loss every single day. In order to find some peace, I designed my own healing program involving meditation, yoga, sound healing and journal reflection. This practice has helped me honor the grief and pain, without letting these emotions take total control of my life. I beleive Kim and Jamie would have lived longer, healthier and happier lives if they too had such a practice to help them release pain and heal. As a result, I decided to help others in their honor by becoming a certified yoga instructor and creating Netradana Yoga.

The name Jamie means "leader" and Kim means "meadow". In Sanskrit leader translates to "Netra" and meadow to "Dana", thus "Netradana" was born. It's fitting as the combined words lead to the image of a leader in a meadow. I see the "leader" being the healed person and the "meadow" being a beautiful life.
Netradana Yoga is the first step towards walking through a beautiful life with a more peaceful and healthy heart, body and soul. This is something I truly wish for all living things.
